An inimitable one-of-a-kind piece for your home
This small round coffee table was made from an oak tree slice. The table top was therefore not glued together from several pieces, but cut directly from the trunk of the native oak. When selecting the wood, special attention was paid to the beauty and uniqueness of the grain. The round tree slice gives a particularly good view of the interesting wood grain. You can therefore see all the annual rings of the oak wood and thus read off the age of the tree. The shape of the table top is also individual and unique. The drying process of the wood causes cracks to form, which further emphasise the individuality of the table top. These cracks and the sapwood on the outer edges give the tree slice table tops even more character. The sapwood is deliberately not removed, but retained. The cracks are filled with black epoxy resin to make the oak tabletop stable and prevent it from breaking. The surface has been finely sanded in our workshop and treated with transparent epoxy varnish. This creates a closed surface that can be easily cleaned.
Minimalist metal legs
Sturdy and decorative are the three metal legs. They add a touch of contemporary chic. The three legs of black lacquered metal are reminiscent of hairpins in their filigree form. The slightly splayed metal legs give the table a stable stand. The table legs form a great contrast to the natural wood. The legs are deliberately simple so that the beauty and uniqueness of the table top is in the foreground. The metal table legs are 40 cm high, so that the side table measures 50 cm in total height.
